An important objective of the Rheinsberg Opera Workshop is to offer the opera excerpts to opera theaters. That's already been successful:
- Grete Minde by Soren Nils Eichberg was premiered in Tangermünde on the occasion of the 1000 anniversary of Tangermünde on 8 September 2009 .
- Dark red by Karola Obermüller and Gabriele Strassmann was in September 2007 at the Staatstheater Nuremberg premiered.
- The Bestmannoper by Alex Nowitz and Ralph Hammerthaler was on 8 April 2006 premiered at the Theater Osnabrück. This was followed by eight performances in the „Großen Haus“ of this theater.
- Mark Möbius erhielt auf Grund seines Rheinsberger Debüts als Opernkomponist einen Kompositionsauftrag vom Land Rheinland-Pfalz. Die so entstandene Oper Idilia erlebte im September 2005 der Festung auf Ehrenbreitstein ihre Uraufführung (Inszenierung Georges Delnon). Der Komponist Mark Möbius ist in der Spielzeit 2006/2007 Composer in Residence am Theater Heidelberg.

A group of nobles under the Prince Prospero hides themselves in a fortress from the raging plague. They celebrate festivals - until the Red Death is coming ...
The red death can be interpreted different, the plague is a metaphor for diseases of various kinds - medical, political, moral.
In Ingeborg Bachmann's radio play „Ein Geschäft mit Träumen“ the protagonist Laurenz enters a shop of dreams and gets offered a collection of dreams. The story is based on this absurd idea.
