Charity Concert
Marco Jentzsch, Tenor
Piano: Jonathan Seers
As a Wagner tenor, Marco Jentzsch enjoys enormous popularity on the great opera stages. Nine years ago he had his debut at the festival in Rheinsberg, where he performed on an opera stage for the very first time. In 2009 he then celebrated his debut as Walther von Stolzing (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) at the Oper Köln. Thereafter he went on to perform this part at the Komische Oper in Berlin and at the Glyndebourne Festival 2011. He sang Lohengrin in Dortmund, Erik (Der Fliegende Holländer) in Amsterdam and Froh (Das Rheingold) at La Scala in Milan.
In the 2011/2012 season, he will once again be singing Lohengrin – this time at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin. Songs by Schubert and Duparc, operetta and, of course, Wagner are on the programme of the charity concert.
